Itineraries
Day one
Kampala – Murchison Falls National Park
Shall begin our trip with a visit to the Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary for Rhino trekking is a must. After lunch, drive to Murchison at the spectacularly situated site at the top of the fall where you can see the Nile’s beauty perfected!! Marvel at the Nile, compressing from up to 1 km squeeze through a 7 meter canyon dropping 45 meters with a thunderous roar creating a beautiful rainbow, a plume of spray and the best thing that happened to the Nile – the Murchison Falls. Overnight and dinner at Paraa Safari Lodge or Red Chili Camp
Day two
Murchison Falls National Park
Start the day with a good breakfast then set off for a game drive. The guide will help you spot the Elephant, Lion, Cape buffalo, Rothschild’s giraffe, hartebeest, Waterbuck, Oribi, Bushbuck, Bohor reedbuck, hyena and if you are lucky, the leopard.
Return to the hotel for lunch. After lunch, go for a boat safari upstream the calm Victoria Nile to the base of the falls stopping just tens of meters from the “Devil’s Cauldron”. Marvel at the hippos, crocodiles and you may see elephant, waterbuck and Uganda Kob. This is also a zone of many bird species like Goliath heron, Egyptian goose, pelican bee-eater, kingfisher, hornbill, cormorant and the rare shoebill stork.
There you leave the boat and start your quite heavy hike to the Top of the fall. See where the world’s longest river explodes violently through a narrow cleft in the Rift Valley escarpment to plunge into a frothing pool 43m below.
Day three
Transfer to kibaale forest national park
All day drive south via Hoima to Fort Portal through verdant countryside and past traditional homesteads and farms along Albertine Rift escarpments. Fort-Portal rests in the shadow of the fabled Mountains of the Moon. Meals and overnight at either Kyaninga Lodge (Lodge Facility) or Chimp Nest (Budget facility) A stunning location overlooking a dramatic Crater Lake and the fabled “Mountains of the Moon”. Meal plan: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner.
Day four
Chimpanzee Tracking Kibale – Bigodi Walk
In the morning you will have breakfast to transfer to Kibale Head quarters for briefing before setting off for Chimpanzee Tracking Kibale. The forest walk will be guided to provide information not only on chimpanzees and primates but also on small organisms making it interesting.
The walk will reward you with other primates like Grey cheeked Mangabeys, Colobus monkeys, Red-tailed monkeys, phoestes, and butterflies. After tracking the chimps in the afternoon you will go for a nature walk to the Bigodi swamp- to see unique flora and fauna.
Day five
Transfer back to kampala
Begin your morning with a tour of the crater region, visit “top of the world”, the natural bridge. On a clear day you will be able to have a view of the snow cap on the Rwenzori. Thereafter drive back to Kampala with lunch en route before your transfer to Entebbe Airport for your flight back home.
